Two rare Amur leopards, Emerald and Jade, arrived at the zoo as cubs in March of 2011.

The Amur Leopard habitat spans the temperate, broad leaf forests and cold winters of the Russian Far East. They are sparsely distributed across Russia, China and possibly, Korea.

Fun Facts:

  • The Greenville Zoo has two leopards named Jade and Emerald - born in Indiana on March 17, 2010. They are sisters.
  • Amur leopards are the most endangered of the big cats.
  • Jade and Emerald are 2 of 5 Amur leopards born in captivity in all of the United States in 2010.
  • Their favorite toy is a "boomer ball".
