Community Workshops

Community Workshop classes are designed to help adults and families discover the wonders of the natural world- together!  Classes will typically combine a lesson with crafts, activities, trips into the zoo, and animals encounters, and are appropriate for various ages. These classes are not a drop-off program. There must be at least one adult for every two children who attend. 

Program length: 2 hours
Program times: 6 to 8 p.m.

What’s Up with Bats? 

Join us as we celebrate the only mammal that can fly- bats! During this workshop we will learn about the bats of South Carolina. Each family will also build a bat box to take home.

Neighborhood Naturalists

Do you love to explore your backyard? Have you always wanted to know the names of the plants and animals that you see? This class is for you! During this class, we will learn basic plant and animal identification using leaves, tracks, and sounds. We will also get to meet some animal friends who are from right here in South Carolina.
