Love your Zoo? Tell us why.

This month, we want to know why you love the Greenville Zoo. Send or post a message, photo or video that tells us what you love about the Zoo. Then join us May 5 for the virtual event, #GivingTuesdayNow, as we share your photos and videos with the community on this global day of giving.

Like many businesses, the Zoo is experiencing a loss in revenue from ticket sales, events, field trips, and more. This loss will most certainly impact the Zoo in the months to come. Our goal is to continue operating at the highest level of standards and to provide our community with the same unique experiences they value when we reopen. If you are able to make a donation, we certainly appreciate your help in getting through this difficult time while we are closed. All donations are tax deductible and will go to support a number of initiatives within the Zoo.

Meet Christine

This week we visited with ZooKeeper Christine. Christine has been at the Greenville Zoo for almost 16 years now! She is in charge of our Africa area at the Zoo. This area includes our giraffe family, lions, Aldabra tortoises, Ruppell’s griffon vultures and our bat eared foxes. While we were with Christine she was busy cleaning out the giraffe barn and lion’s den, as well as doing target training with Miles. We finished off the visit with some neck scratches with Bubba. Thank you Greenville Water for donating portable hand washing stations for our Zooeepers to use during their daily care of the animals. You made our Zoo safer and our Zookeepers' jobs a little easier.
