On Friday, August 7, the Greenville Zoo began requiring visitors over the age of two to wear face masks. This requirement complies with the SC Governor's Executive Order 2020-50. Thank you for your help as we strive to keep all guests, staff and animals healthy.

Birthday Girl

Happy birthday, Adira! This sweet girl turned two last week and her keepers threw the whole family a fun party to celebrate.
Adira is one of three Sumatran orangutans at the Greenville Zoo. Sumatran orangutans are highly endangered in their native habitats, and the Greenville Zoo is proud to participate with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums in the Orangutan Species Survival Plan (SSP)® program. Adira’s successful delivery by C-section and her continued growth and development are testaments to the Greenville Zoo’s commitment to conservation and its dedication to excellence in animal care.

Behind-the-Scenes Tours

Elevate your visit with a behind-the-scenes tour and get a glimpse into the inner workings of the Greenville Zoo! The tour begins in the zoo’s commissary area, where you’ll learn about the nutritional needs of the animals. From there, you’ll wind your way around the zoo, visiting various exhibits, meeting zookeepers and having close-up encounters with zoo residents.
